The Nerdiest Museum in History
Backpacking
Headed for an adventure in the great outdoors? Don't leave
home without checking TheBackPacker.com first. The site
includes trail and park information, basic tips for beginners,
a photo gallery, and a lively message board. You'll also
find reviews that will help you find the best gear for
your trip.
Corporate America
Forget about Enron! The most talked-about corporation
in 2002 will undoubtedly be AndyCo. This mega-corporation
was founded by a former sailor and glee club enthusiast
in 1895 as The Andrew Company. Andy IV changed the name
to AndyCo in 1975 and expanded the company's dominance.
AndyCo is now involved in low-cost space exploration,
oil, cable TV, banana shoes, and so much more. Check it
out, and find out how you can become a part of the AndyCo
team!
Foreign Postcards
Want to send someone a postcard from the other side of
the globe, but you don't want to leave your chair? Go
to Flyyy.com, where you can choose from thousands of digital
postcards that include images from all over the world.
The huge database is searchable by region, theme, mood,
and art. Pick your card, type out your message, and let
it flyyy.
Museum for Geeks
Take a trip back in time to the early days of computing;
a time when the mighty Cray 1A Supercomputer crunched
numbers at amazing speeds; and when Macs and Commodore
64s brought computing power to the masses. You can see
the entire history of the computer in one outstanding
and incredibly nerdy museum! The DigiBarn, in Northern
California, houses an enormous collection of antique computers,
manuals, and assorted paraphernalia.

Presidents Say
the Darn'dest Things
Whether you adore the man or can't stand him, you have
to admit that Dubya says some idiotic things. Here's one
of our illustrious president's gem's from last October:
"And we'll be tough and resolute as we unite, to make
sure freedom stands, to rout out evil, to say to our children
and grandchildren, we were bold enough to act, without
tiring, so that you can live in a great land and in a
peaceful world. And there's no doubt in my mind, not one
doubt in my mind, that we will fail." Here's another showing
his command of English grammar: "This doesn't have nothing
to do with reputation." You'll find over 500 more quotes
just like these on DubyaSpeak.com.
Rare Diseases
The National Organization for Rare Disorders features
a database of detailed information on over 1,100 diseases.
They also have information about more than 2,000 support
groups, voluntary health organizations, and non-profit
agencies that help people affected by rare diseases.
